Celebrities! They’re just like us—except when it comes to naming children. It seems like a pastime for the rich and famous to give their offspring unique names. Nicole Kidman and her husband, musician Keith Urban, have a daughter named Sunday (so does actor Mike Myers). Nicolas Cage’s son’s name is Kal-El, the birth name of Superman. Director Ron Howard and his wife Cheryl famously gave their children middle names of where they were conceived—Bryce Dallas in Dallas, Texas, Jocelyn Carlyle and Paige Carlyle in the Carlyle Hotel in New York City, and Reed Cross for London’s Lower Cross Road (Ron joked with the New York Times that they chose Cross because “I didn’t think Volvo was a very good middle name or Reed Lower Howard.”) With so many options to choose from, we whittled down the list to just babies born this year. Here are a few of 2020’s unique celebrity baby names:
X Æ A-12 (Grimes & Elon Musk)
Musician Grimes and Tesla CEO Elon Musk welcomed their first child into the world on May 5th. The baby boy (who is Musk’s sixth son) is named X Æ A-12 Musk. His father announced the name in a tweet.
Grimes, 32, took to the social networking site to explain the meaning of the non-traditional name.
(Musk, 48, corrected her on the model of the plane.)
Vanja Sevigny Mačković (Chloë Sevigny & Siniša Mačković)
Actress Chloë Sevigny gave birth to her first child, Vanja Sevigny Mačković, on May 2nd. The 45-year-old shared the news on Instagram, with a photo of her, boyfriend/baby daddy Siniša Mačković, and their son. According to BabyNames.com, Vanja is a name of Slavic origin that means “God is gracious.”
Raddix Madden (Cameron Diaz & Benji Madden)
Though she didn’t share a picture, Cameron Diaz revealed the birth of her daughter, Raddix Madden, on Instagram. In the post (which is a screenshot of text), the 47-year-old actress said that she and her husband, 41-year-old musician Benji Madden, would not be sharing photos of their child to protect Raddix’s privacy. Raddix may have been born on December 30th, 2019, but Diaz and Madden didn’t announce the birth until January 3rd.
Goldie Patricia (Carson & Siri Daly)
Today Show power couple Carson and Siri Daly’s fourth child was born in March. Carson, 46, announced the birth of their daughter Goldie Patricia on his Instagram account. He later told his Today Show colleagues that he was inspired to look at Irish names on St. Patrick’s Day after a DNA test confirmed his “98% Irish heritage.” Daly said they picked the name because Goldie, or “Go Go” as they will call her, “seems like the pot of gold at the end of our family rainbow.”
Callum Michael Rebel Kazee (Jenna Dewan & Steve Kazee)
Jenna Dewan gave birth to her first son, Callum Michael Rebel Kazee, in March. The 39-year-old actress and dancer shared news of the baby’s arrival on Instagram. Callum is a name of Scottish descent and means “dove,” according to BabyNames.com.

Anderson’s newest sibling, Osian “(pronounced O-shun like the body of water)!”, was born on February 2nd. According to Jovovich, Osian is of Welsh descent. Jovovich joked about and explained the baby’s full, long name—Osian Lark Elliot Jovovich-Anderson—in her own Instagram post.
